The McCon-O-Pot is the soul of our McWah. A unit specially designed with the help of CTS to create the rich, thick, and dynamic wah sounds of the old Italian pedals, while providing a smooth taper and long throw, and needing zero cleaning or maintenance.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”top-to-bottom”]An independent comparison of the McCon-O-Pot against a few competing types was conducted by keen eBayer and engineer Phillip Perkmann. He provided the following graphical representation, to allow others to see the tone of our pot “in action”. Note the travel/sweep symmetry — and the intentional elongating of the high-end resistance taper. This is what provides a more pronounced middle area, and feel while playing.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1474067728800{margin-top: 20px !important;}”][rev_slider_vc alias=”mcconopot-page-slider”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1493058064455{margin-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_column_text]

The McCon-O-Pot is a combined effort between us here at McCon-O-Wah and our friends at CTS. Desiring the grit, spank, and throatiness of a jimiesque vintage wah, but with the throw and reliability of a modern boutique pedal, we found no other option but to design a new potentiometer to fit our needs. This 2nd generation variant of the McCon-O-Pot is a perfect option to turn your standard or boutique wah pedal into a vintage tone machine that you’ll never want to stop playing.[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwY2xhc3MlM0QlMjJlY3dpZCUyMGVjd2lkLVNpbmdsZVByb2R1Y3QtdjIlMjBlY3dpZC1TaW5nbGVQcm9kdWN0LXYyLWJvcmRlcmVkJTIwZWN3aWQtU2luZ2xlUHJvZHVjdC12Mi1jZW50ZXJlZCUyMGVjd2lkLVByb2R1Y3QlMjBlY3dpZC1Qcm9kdWN0LTU4NDA3NDAwJTIyJTIwaXRlbXNjb3BlJTIwaXRlbXR5cGUlM0QlMjJodHRwJTNBJTJGJTJGc2NoZW1hLm9yZyUyRlByb2R1Y3QlMjIlMjBkYXRhLXNpbmdsZS1wcm9kdWN0LWlkJTNEJTIyNTg0MDc0MDAlMjIlM0UlM0NkaXYlMjBpdGVtdHlwZSUzRCUyMmh0dHAlM0ElMkYlMkZzY2hlbWEub3JnJTJGT2ZmZXIlMjIlMjBpdGVtc2NvcGUlMjBpdGVtcHJvcCUzRCUyMm9mZmVycyUyMiUzRSUzQ2RpdiUyMGNsYXNzJTNEJTIyZWN3aWQtcHJvZHVjdEJyb3dzZXItcHJpY2UlMjBlY3dpZC1wcmljZSUyMiUyMGl0ZW1wcm9wJTNEJTIycHJpY2UlMjIlMjBjb250ZW50JTNEJTIyMjQuOTUlMjIlMjBkYXRhLXNwdy1wcmljZS1sb2NhdGlvbiUzRCUyMmJ1dHRvbiUyMiUzRSUzQ2RpdiUyMGl0ZW1wcm9wJTNEJTIycHJpY2VDdXJyZW5jeSUyMiUyMGNvbnRlbnQlM0QlMjJVU0QlMjIlM0UlM0MlMkZkaXYlM0UlM0MlMkZkaXYlM0UlM0MlMkZkaXYlM0UlM0NkaXYlMjBjdXN0b21wcm9wJTNEJTIyb3B0aW9ucyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRmRpdiUzRSUzQ2RpdiUyMGN1c3RvbXByb3AlM0QlMjJhZGR0b2JhZyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRmRpdiUzRSUzQyUyRmRpdiUzRSUzQ3NjcmlwdCUyMHR5cGUlM0QlMjJ0ZXh0JTJGamF2YXNjcmlwdCUyMiUyMHNyYyUzRCUyMmh0dHBzJTNBJTJGJTJGYXBwLmVjd2lkLmNvbSUyRnNjcmlwdC5qcyUzRjQ3NjA3NyUyNmRhdGFfcGxhdGZvcm0lM0RzaW5nbGVwcm9kdWN0X3YyJTIyJTIwY2hhcnNldCUzRCUyMnV0Zi04JTIyJTNFJTNDJTJGc2NyaXB0JTNFJTNDc2NyaXB0JTIwdHlwZSUzRCUyMnRleHQlMkZqYXZhc2NyaXB0JTIyJTNFeFByb2R1Y3QlMjglMjklM0MlMkZzY3JpcHQlM0U=[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1493764374578{margin-top: 20px !important;}” offset=”vc_hidden-xs”][vc_tabs][vc_tab title=”Description” tab_id=”3780b18e-1601-29184-2083″][vc_column_text]

Product Description

Conventional wah pots are not calibrated for many of today’s circuits. Many “boutique” manufacturers either ripped off the old ICAR design, or copied it exactly, only to put a new name on it and resell it as their own design. We’ve been asked by many tone seeking guitar players today for an ICAR tapered pot (usually not even knowing what it is or why they “need it”) …because “Jimi Played One”. Note: this is NOT an ICAR tapered pot.

The effects world has changed a lot since Jimi’s time, and we’re sure that if he had access to the stuff we do today, he’d agree some of it is pretty awesome, and undoubtedly use it. Things such as: true-bypass effect pedal switching, rotary “tone” selector switches, input or output buffers, and improved designs on many of the semiconductor components readily available today.

This Pot has much more sizzle by design through the culmination of efforts (coupled with technological advances) where we worked directly with CTS to engineer a better performing, more reliable potentiometer for all of us. The first generation McCon-O-Pot was largely successful, prompting the need to create a better one while keeping the same warm, and usable taper. This new design (Gen II) has 133.3 times the cycle life as the Gen I pot, and also has a tighter torque actuation. It requires NO cleaning – and is moisture/water resistant rated.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tab][vc_tab title=”Additional Information” tab_id=”4cfcb19c-1feb-09184-2083″][vc_column_text]
